'Non-Violent Action For Tibet' Workshop
(June 23-28, 2002. Kalimpong, West Bengal)

Preparing for the Drama Presentation

Day Five (Thursday. June 27, 2002): Sethu Das' talk on 'An Outsider's Point of View' left everyone in silence. The talk was a little too long. Questions were asked and answered. The time consumption was mainly because his talk was translated into Tibetan in every five minutes.

Drama presentation could not be done this morning as again few participants were missing. So the presentation will be done in the afternoon after tea. Yesterday, the public meet could have been planned but could not happen. Public meet is scheduled for tomorrow. Trainees were divided into two and they would organise the public meeting.

Drama was presented. The story was about the birth control in Tibet -- abortion and sterilization of Tibetan women from the age of 16 to 50. Presentation was quite lengthy but we could see all workshop participants taking part in some way or the other. Drama was followed by a discussion and responses to the drama.

Finally we screened Amar Kanwar's film on non-violence, 'A Season Outside.'
