Tenzin Tsundue while talking about Tibet today he said: "Today entire Tibet is under a tyrannical Chinese military rule, making Tibet, the most inaccessible country after Syria and North Korea. Tibetan nomads and farmers are losing their land to Chinese land sharks, Tibetan textbooks are being replaced by Chinese, human rights is blatantly violated in my country and yet over a hundred countries continue earn trade benefits from China. This lead to over 152 cases of self-immolations by Tibetans inside Tibet."

Anil Thampi, who is a student of Buddhist philosophy, particularly the Nalanda tradition at the Pune University and Tibet House, New Delhi said: "Tibetans have preserved and protected Buddhism by practice and scholarship what India list after the Nalanda fire. With greatest humility His Holiness the Dalai Lama calls India his 'Guru' and himself India's chela or students, But, I think after the destruction of Buddhism in India Tibetans are bringing back one of our most treasured philosophies, scholarships and one of the most profound human tradition of learning. Therefore we are the chela and Tibetans are guru, the roles reversed."
